How long does it take for a normal Asian man or woman's skin to darken when exposed to average amount of sunlight? Is it possible for skin to darken when exposed for merely 5 minutes?

It depends on how much of the pigment melanin you have in your skin in the first place. The darker you are at present, the longer it will take to go even darker, and that's true for everyone, Asian or otherwise.
If you are going to expose yourself to long periods of strong sunlight, wear a good quality sunscreen.
